It's still here.

Any way the wind blows.

NOM once said, "Like good music, good design never gets old or goes out of style."
Today we post tribute to Queen for their 40th anniversary!! Two-thousand eleven is a special year for this timeless band as their entire 15-album studio catalog is being reissued in a series of deluxe editions. Wow. Read more about it here.

What a journey they've been on. To this day we still hear "We Will Rock You" at games and "We Are The Champions" is epic. "Under Pressure" and "I Want To Break Free" are personal faves. Work out to "Don't Stop Me Now". "Another One Bites The Dust" is beatastic! What's your favorite Queen song? 40th anniversary people! RESPECT.

Since NOM&ADA all began in Hawaii, we wanted to pay homage in a personal way.
Here's Jake Shimabukuro rocking Bohemian Rhapsody on his ukulele.

Sway in your waves.

Could not pass up an old fave group from NYC, Blonde Redhead. Enchanting Kazu & the Pace twins performed in town tonight like a wondrous passing enigma.
NYC, how I miss thee...

Good things!

Last night and last minute, we got word that Aloe Blacc was in town performing at Mississippi Studios (a great venue for its intimate setting). Raced over to catch the show & happy we did! What a feel good show & the house was PACKED!...vibes of love & happiness! Aloe's energy and stage presence made clear he's like a modern-day Bill Withers. His covers of songs like this one were "wow". We were lucky enough to enjoy the show from the balcony! At one point the audience below was asked to participate in a Soul Train dance...the room parted in half as people danced down the line! Stellar.
A souvenir...

Was able to catch some footage off the cell phone but apologies for the poor quality!

When was soul ever irrelevant?  -Aloe Blacc

Living in the fast lane.

Last year, as we drove around the lovely island of Hawaii, Beautiful was playing often on blast...

It's been a little over a year now since NOM & ADA came together. We've gone through all the growing pains that are bound to come our way as entrepreneurs. We've learned so much and are striving at wearing the many 'hats' of our job. No longer are we just designers. We are design, production, marketing, finances, sales, website builder, student, stylist, creative and business director. Just the two of us. It's been a challenge in every sense of the word. Nothing ever comes out right the first time. But we keep going, trusting in ourselves and in one another.
Things are coming down to the wire as our goal is to officially launch in spring 2011. We are in preparation to sell and then production.
If you would like to help support our ventures, along with two good causes, feel free to visit the N/A shop (a side project) for some cool totes. We believe that in order to better the world, we need to not only treat one another right but the earth as well.
Shop with quality in mind. Not quantity. Take care of the things you have. Don't be wasteful. Re-use. Give more. Cherish gifts.

To all those pursuing your dreams, never give up. Even when it feels impossible. Even when if feels like everything is failing you. Or you feel stuck, unsure, uncertain. The key is to try. And if you fail. That's okay. The success is in the learning and in the getting there. May you have the courage to try again. We are only here once.

Patience and faith.

View-Master, since 1939, has been a device for viewing 3-D images on a paper disc. I remember the one I had back in the day took me on visual trips to the zoo, on safaris, and even to outer space. Stellar.

Such inspired the concept of this sweet video...
