Shoot for the moon.

Themed playgrounds. Something maybe taken for granted as children, but looking back we grow a new level appreciation for what nurtures a young mind's creativity.
Artist & photographer, Lauren Orchowski, captured 1980s rocket ship playgrounds across the US.

And from rocket ships came Orchowski's dioramas. Constructed of wood, metal, polymer, paint, paper, found elements from nature, photographic paper, and fluorescent bulbs. I remember making dioramas in elementary school...creating replicas of stories read, nestled within shoe boxes. They were tedious but fun and I took them seriously, as if I could jump right in and be a part of a lifelike dream.
