Nom's Travelogue: Reminiscing Portland II

Just got back a week ago from good ol' PDX. I've collected some photos to share with you so you can get a glimpse of what went on aside from work and mingling with the Alpacas!!

I can't live without my fresh cup of joe (several times a day) and found these fascinating ceiling lights at Portland's own Stumptown Coffee.  They reminded me of grapes, which I love as well! 

Was out and about enjoying our waffles from The Waffle Window and as we headed back towards the car, we came across this amazing tree... lol. So random!  I wish I had a tree like this in my backyard when I was growing up!

Alpaca ♥.

What an amazing afternoon at Starr Alpaca Farm in not so Boring,OR! Spur of the moment and well worth the adventure! We've looked at these photos a gazillion times today and laughed out loud, remembering the silly moments shared with these curious gentle creatures. Behind a pleasant smile, each had a unique personality. Thank you so much to Vallorie and her sweet dogs for having us. It meant a lot. Yarn is made from their fleece and Vallorie marks the names of which alpaca it came from on each skein. Pretty cool.

My First...

Was cleaning out some old boxes of stuff, and came across my first passport photo from the 80s.  That's me (Nom) in the bottom right... LOL.  Who knew that passport photos could be taken "family photo" style. Loving the ruffled collar, and considering getting a boy-cut now...LOL 

Reminiscing Portland: Food FIESTA 'n More!

How time flies!  It's been about a month since I returned from the Portland trip (^_^) Looking back at the old photos, I realized that I never took the time to share them with you.  I love sunshine, I love nature, I love animals, and I love music, but most of all I love food 'n coffee!! Oh...and of course...I love fashion!! Sharing some of the yummiest moments from Portland. Enjoy~

Saint Cupcake delights!  These tiny cupcakes got us through the tough times...

Biggest burger 'n fries I've ever had (o_O)  Slow burger from Slow Bar.  Super delicious...a must try if you're ever in town!

It was the first game of the season for NFL --Saints vs Vikings.  Thought why not go celebrate and enjoy the vibe at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Never eat these spicy ones without getting a glass of water first! Hot hoT hOt!!

Slappy Cakes.  Somewhat reminiscent of a Japanese style teppan yaki or okonomiyaki, but it was a delightful twist on a traditional breakfast menu of pancakes! hmm yum!

Taking a lil break from the food fest,  enjoy some of the lovely images from the nearby farmer's market and the local art fair, and of course, our adorable mascot.

This was a place that ADA insisted she MUST take me to, and it was well worth the 40 min wait.

I must share a lil quote from my dear friend Ms. A, regarding these custard filled scandalous doughnuts. (fyi: the coco puff ring is your standard size doughnut)

Been meaning to post this. After NOM left Portland back home to Tokyo, we left her bed out for a bit. Let's just say the big guy missed her. Can we say aw...
